What did I just read? Seriously, it was like a long monolog of "Well, this one thing happened. And then this happened. And then, oh wait, I forgot to tell you about the time this other thing happened". There was no real story here. It stops with no real conclusion. Also, there is a secondary story woven into the book that I think is supposed to be the story of the author's maternal heritage. Its so poorly written that I can't really tell what's happening or to which character. Its a confusing book.I gave 2 stars only because, with a good editor and more information, this tale could be reworked into a much better narrative. The writer can clearly write dialog and this was a great (and quick) read, but I have 3 observations:1. The book ends so abruptly that I truly thought the Kindle download had been interrupted.2. Too many relatives to keep track of. Perhaps the writer could have chosen a smaller number of characters to describe, and also spend more time describing them so that the reader can tell them apart3. As mentioned in other reviews, the editing errors were distracting at best. I truly hope the writer will continue to write, and if so, hire an editor (i.e., a person) who is competent.
